If you are to give up, give up ignorance, demotivation, give up limits, give up weakness, give up unhappiness. If it is to overcome, overcome evil with good, overcome laziness, overcome hatred with forgiveness, overcome poverty with a solidarity attitude, overcome the oppressors and their negativity with your natural positivity. Overcome indifference with your education and kindness. And if it is to live … live every day as if it were the last for we take nothing from here! but if we have each other, we have more than enough.

O verso mais conhecido do grande Poeta Camões (segundo minha interpretação) cai certinho como tema nesse dia especial, o dia das Mães. Quando o poeta disse: “amor é fogo que arde sem se ver, é ferida que dói e não se sente… ” talvez não imaginara quão associativo isso seria para o Amor de Mães. 👩‍👦👩‍👧‍👧👩‍👦‍👦👩‍👧‍👦👩‍👧♥️ 
Você já imaginou um fogo interminável? Um fogo que nem mesmo a distância de mares, estados, quilômetros apagaria. Um fogo que ressalta poder e também vida. Um fogo que traz aconchego quando a solidão bate. Quando o frio dos corações que nessa sociedade habitam te dão as costas, é esse fogo que nos aquece. É o amor de Mãe, interminável; nem vida, nem morte apaga as lembranças que ecoam dentro do peito. Nem defeitos, escolhas, caminhos podem apagar essa chama. 🔥 

A ferida que dói e não se sente parece no mínimo coisa típica de um conto de fadas, né? Mas é real, mães são Rainhas. 👸🏻👸🏽👸🏼 Olhe para sua mamãe, para sua avó, ou tia… aquela que te criou. Consegue lembrar quantas vezes ela chorou por você? Talvez não sabia que em silêncio elas tenham se despejado diante do Deus para te abençoar. Pedindo a Ele que te proteja. Liberando perdão aos nossos momentos de rebeldia. Isso pra mim é o exemplo mais realístico de uma ferida que não dói. A ferida, a dor não ganha ênfase pois esse Amor de mãe consegue suportar qualquer sofrimento. 
Agradeço ao Eterno por poder conciliar e extrair exemplos maravilhosos como estes, quais muito traduzem o que vivemos todos os dias. Poesia é eterna. E mães TAMBÉM. Grande abraço mamães! Feliz dia! 😇👏🏼

My grandma used to recite me a poem about the purple passionflower when I was little. The poem still automatically plays in my mind every time I see passion flowers. Time flies and so does beauty. But memories are always there, warming our hearts and reminding us about the simple things in life. Simple things are still enough to make the difference in our every day routine. Let’s leave behind what troubles us now and appreciate the beauty of the moment. 🐞

About a year ago the guy on the picture (Nelson) sent me an e-mail asking for help. Then I got to know his project with children and adults in Mozambique: they gather every weekend to have a meal together, sing songs, read books and enjoy each other’s company. I liked that. So I’ve decided to help, sent few copies of my Children’s Poetry book, colouring books, pens and pencils.

Some of these children suffer everyday. They suffer hunger: their parents can’t provide enough food, there isn’t many jobs. Some have HIV and need special medicine for their treatments. During winter, they lack appropriate clothes. In a nutshell: it is tough for them.

And I know I can’t save the world on my own, but there is always something I can do to help them. It makes my heart happier and lighter when I wake up and know that they can count on me. One day we’ll be together. I’ll bring my guitar and we’ll have a great time! 🎸🎶☀️

For now, all I can do is to thank Heaven for keeping them safe. If you’d like to help, get in touch!
